Monaco played their heart out in the top match against Bordeaux. But the game still ended with a 1-0 loss.

Bordeaux 1 Planus, 63
Monaco 0

Last saturday was the big match of the weekend! Rejuvenated Monaco against the reigning champs from Bordeaux. Nr 1 vs Nr 2. It was a very equal game, and both teams had their chances. Unfortunately for Monaco they were missing players like Traoré, Gudjohnsen, Costa and Park. Watching the game really made me realize how much Park means to this team. He is really a playmaker. But enough about that, and injuries are no excuse for loosing! Nimani was in to replace Park, and he actually did a fine job and he came up with chances but none of his finishes could beat Carrasso in the Bordeaux goal. The first goal came in the 63rd minute. It was on a free kick that Gourcuff was to take care off. The ball came in and they headed at Ruffier who came up with a great save, but unfortunately Planus was right there on the rebound to score. Monaco tried hard for the rest of the game but was not able to come back. Monaco fell down to 3rd place and was passed by Lyon.
This week Monaco will try to bounce back against last place Grenoble, who still haven’t won a game. So nothing else but a victory is a fail. Park will be back for the game, and maybe also Gudjohnsen and Traoré. It will be great to regain confidence and stay in the top of Ligue 1. Cause that is where we belong! We will miss Nenê in the upcoming game as he is out because of suspension. But it should not be a problem against Grenoble. It is the best game to miss him. Hopefully we will bounce back and get the 3 points.
In other matters, Monaco are seriously interested in Ligue 2 goalscorer Olivier Giroud. He keeps on scoring goals for Tours and leads the Ligue 2 topscorer list. Monaco want to bring him in the winter mercato, and I really hope we will. He is a dangerous striker and we don’t have that kind of striker on the team yet. It would be a great signing to this already dangerous offensive we have.
That is all for this time! Next game is on saturday at 19:00 against Grenoble

I dont like the idea of taking a Ligue 2 player and expecting him to contribute.

When you have scored 11 goals in 13 matches and can use the head and your feet to score you become interesting. I am happy for the idea. Especially after watching some film with Giroud. He looks dangerous. But I agree that it is questionable to demand a Ligue 2 player to contribute
