Transfer rumours heating up in Monaco
By: Christoffer | July 22nd, 2009
A lot of rumours are circling around in Monaco theese days. Some bigger than others, but all still very exciting. So here are the weekly transfer rumours round up!
In
Mathieu Coutadeur: The rumours have been heated up again, and now the signature of Coutadeur is just a matter of time. Monaco and Le Mans should have worked out a price, and it should be just around 3-4€ million. Coutadeur have accordingly to various sources agreed to a 4 year long deal with Les Monegasques. I am very pleased if this is true. Coutadeur is a playmaker and has a great range of passing! Great signing if it comes true.
Seyi Olofinjana: Now two midfielders are beeing rumoured close to Monaco. If I have to choose between Olofinjana and Coutadeur it would definetly be Coutadeur! But two midfielders are always nice. Well last time I posted about Olofinjana it was said that a 3€ million bid was sent to Stoke, and since then. Nothing have really happened, maybe it is because that Monaco saw the chance to finally get Coutadeur and then abandoned Olofinjana, or maybe we get both. But let’s see and wait.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy: My surprise of this transfer rumours roundup. Unlike Schevchenko which had no chance of happening, this could actually happen! According to Eurosport, Monaco have offered Real Madrid 4€ million, and it was accepted! Then we offered a 2 year long deal, and now Nistellrooy is thinking about a possible move to the french riviera. I would love to get him. He is still a dangerous striker despite beeing out of football for one year with an injury. It would be so great if we finally got that top striker who just always knew how to get the ball in the goal.
Out
Jerko Leko: A fight is still going on between Stoke and Wolverhampton. The price is rising, and it is only to our advantage that 2 clubs want him! The price is now around 2€ million, but it could rise in the upcoming days. Hopefully this transfer can get wrapped up in the coming days, and we can move on without Leko.
Dario Simic: Simic is earning way to many money in Monaco. And he is only a reserve! Now he has been told that he has no future in Monaco, and his old club Dinamo Zagreb, was quick to react. They are close to a deal to send Simic back to Ukraine, and make him history in Monaco. As with Leko I hope this happens quickly and without pain in the negotiations between us and Zagreb
Patrick Müller: Now this is just a matter of time before it happens. He should move back to Servette Geneve, and he is very happy for that. He was as Simic told by Lacombe that he had no future here in Lacombes new system. An undisclosed price have been agreed and now only remains Geneve to work out a deal with Simic.
So very exciting news here in this weeks transfer rumours roundup! Hopefully all of this comes true. If it does I believe that we have a very strong squad, and possibly a contender for spots in Europe next year. But let’s see. That is it for now. See you next time!

Can Monaco afford Van Nistelrooy wages? Isn’t that the issue Lyon had with him?

Ruud would be a waste because he’d eat up too much money and there’s not many good players to surround him with. If we were 1 player away from being a championship team and he would put us over the top, then I’d sign him. I actually like Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink who’s been mentioned and would be much cheaper.

Is the Van Nistelrooy thing actually possible? It would make Ligue 1 more high profile if anything which is good for all the clubs transfer interests.

Yes it actually is. Van Nistelrooy have not been offered anything concrete from anyone but Monaco.. And right now it does not seem like anyone bigger than Monaco will make a move for him anytime soon. Great for french football and for Monaco if it happened
